  El Caribe Tropical is an 11 piece Latin orchestra based in St. Louis, MO.

  The band was founded in 1990 and quickly filled a void in the St. Louis Salsa scene

  for Live Latin Music.

  El Caribe Tropical has played at many major venues in and outside of the St. Louis area

  including Casaloma Ballroom, The Sheldon concert hall, outdoor festivals

  (St. Louis Art Fair, Missouri History Museum, Clayton's Parties at the Park,

  Greater St. Louis Hispanic Festival, Fiesta in Florissant, Mount Pleasant Winery, etc). 

  St. Louis's Club Viva and Club Dantes are some of the hottest nightclubs we have performed for. 

Through the years we have shared the stage with internationally renowned Latin music acts

such as Grupo Niche, Oscar De Leon, Poncho Sanchez, Giro, Lalo Rodriguez, Anthony Cruz, and Tito Rojas.

Under the musical direction of Rick Thorp, El Caribe Tropical plays a wide variety of tropical, Caribbean and South American Latin rhythms

such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, and Cha-Cha, and also has an extensive Latin Jazz repertoire.
